Dimple Floor has been designed and tested to meet the safety requirements of industrial, hospitality and domestic applications and includes the following safety features:
Frequent enquires are received from customers regarding flammability properties and fire resistance of Dimple Flooring.
As various industries impose different requirements on specific minimum Flammability rating determinations, attention is focused on a couple of the most frequently checked items (UL 94HB), namely:
Although Test methods and desired fire performance vary between tests, the most common tests in Polymeric materials (PVC Floor coverings) are usually focused on “Small open flame or Radiant heat source” ignition.
In this case, the “small flame” methodology of rating has been applied:
This included placing a 10cm section of a tile horizontally in a fixed position and then applying an open flame to the end of the sample for 60 seconds.
The desired result of the test is that once the flame is extinguished, the material does not continue combusting and that the burn area is not >10mm within 60 seconds.
Both results were achieved in this test case:- No continuous flammability and <5mm deformation due to the open flame.
This analysis signifies that DIMPLE Heavy Duty PVC Flooring tiles will not flare up with exposure to an open flame and has exhibited a slow burn rate when exposed to the same.
Achieving these results implies that Dimple Heavy Duty PVC Flooring tiles would meet the appropriate standards for this purpose.
